CRA TDD (Tax Data Delivery) service and Box 26 of T-Slip T4/RL-1

Why, when I use the CRA's tax data delivery service, is the amount in box 26 of the T4/RL-1 slip being displayed opposite keyword CPP-Earn?

When a T4 slip (province of employment in Quebec) is downloaded, the software displays on the right-hand side of the data entry screen the amount from box 26 of the T4/RL-1 slip opposite keyword CPP-Earn instead of keyword QPP-Earn .

Please verify the downloaded amounts that are displayed on the right-hand side of the data entry screen and copy to the left only one amount in box 26 (keyword QPP-Earn ).

If you copy the amount from box 26 to the keyword CPP-Earn instead of the keyword QPP-Earn , the outcome will be as follows:

• Schedule RC381 (Inter-Provincial Calculation for CPP and QPP) will be generated by mistake.
• Line 308 (CPP/QPP employment) of federal Schedule 1 will be understated.
• Line 452 (QPP/CPP overpayment) of the TP1 will be overstated.
